"We hired Heritage Floors in 2014 to convert our carpeted plywood staircase to oak. We wanted to keep the existing oak pickets and railings. When the carpet was removed from the curved staircase, there were many flaws in the structure. Janusz meticulously relevelled and repaired every inch of the staircase foundation before installing the new oak treads, risers and veneer. The result is a strong, beautiful staircase without a single creaking step! He was also able to achieve a perfect colour match between the new surfaces and the existing pickets/railings. We really appreciated Janusz’s precision, professionalism and reliability, and we were especially pleased at how carefully he protected our floors and cleaned up at the end of every workday. At the beginning of the project, Janusz itemized a very detailed quote including all materials, hours and labour costs, so there were no surprises when it was time to pay the bill. Heritage Floors was not the lowest quote we got when we were planning this project, but in the end we were so happy with the staircase that we hired Janusz again several months later to refinish the wood floors on our main floor."
